English

Natural colorants are additives obtained from plants, fruits and other natural products and are used to color foods naturally. Although there are many different types of natural colorants, one of the most popular is pink. Pink can be obtained from a variety of plant sources and is one of the most commonly used shades in the food industry worldwide.

One of the most common ways to obtain the pink shade is through the processing of beet. Beet is a dark red root vegetable and its juice can be used to impart a pink hue to foods. Beet juice can be used in various recipes, such as cookies, cakes and drinks, and is a natural and healthy option for adding color to foods.

Pink color is one of the most demanded colors due to its versatility in all kinds of products and beverages, as this color generates a lot of attraction from a large group of consumers, besides being a color that transmits natural visual appeal due to its warm tones.

Natural colorants play an important role in the industry due to their safety and healthiness as opposed to their artificial counterparts that have proven to be harmful to health when consumed for long periods of time.
